  1. Version 1.6.0 — Sharing custom categories and staples

    We improved sharing for custom categories and staples.

    New features

    • You can now share buckets that use a custom category. They do not appear in the other person's category list.
    • When someone shares a staple you already have, you can merge it, keep both, or decline.
    • You can change the category of a staple you added. The title stays locked.
    • Stats doughnut charts and Sheets breakdowns now include custom categories.

    Improvements

    • Custom categories with the same name now group under your local look in lists and filters.
    • You can no longer create or rename a custom category to match a built-in name such as Travel. Existing ones stay.
    • Merge, keep both, and decline now ask for confirmation first.

    Fixes

    • First-time sharing of a personal bucket could fail.
    • The Friends tab icon no longer flashes a lock on launch.
    • The shared-bucket icon on the friends list now lines up with the like icon.
    • A long custom category name could squash nearby counts and UI.
    • Shared updates could stop arriving after the listener dropped.

  2. Version 1.5.0 — Easier staples, and a clearer view of public items and friends

    We made staples easier to find, and cleaned up how public items and friends look.

    New features

    • Travel staples now include Japan's prefectures.
    • Travel staples now include U.S. states.
    • Travel staples now include "Visit the Izu Islands".
    • The home screen now shows completed and in-progress counts for your public buckets.
    • Long-press a friend to see a card with their profile and counts.

    Improvements

    • "Share this app" now sends the official download page.
    • Adding a staple from Discover now follows your default visibility setting.
    • The staple "Visit Fukuoka" is now "Visit Hakata". Existing "Visit Fukuoka" items stay as they are.
    • Travel staples now place Japan next to Japan's prefectures, and use official names.
    • The list cap row now splits the limit and the breakdown. Public counts moved to the public row on Home.
    • The list how-to now separates the heading from the explanation, and explains the cap row.

    Fixes

    • Your own list now reloads images less often, so it feels lighter.
    • The list how-to text now matches the selected theme.
    • The friend long-press card could briefly show the previous friend's counts.
    • Friend avatars could flicker from a person placeholder.
    • Unsharing and deleting a shared bucket are now distinguished on other devices.
    • A shared bucket no longer stays marked as shared when only one person is left.
    • The filter sheet now matches the detail screen's order and wording.

  3. Version 1.4.0 — A clearer view of friends and your list

    We cleaned up how friends and your list look.

    New features

    • The friends list header now shows public, in-progress, and completed counts.
    • The list limit row always shows the in-progress and completed breakdown.
    • Filter your list by whether buckets are included in SNS share.

    Improvements

    • The long-press menu now shows the full title when it was truncated.
    • The stats report export heading no longer says "(Pro)". Pro is explained in the description.

    Fixes

    • Friend avatars could stay on a placeholder even after they had already loaded.
    • Receiving a shared bucket sometimes failed to sync its completion event to the calendar.
    • A friend's display name could jump after pull-to-refresh.
    • Shared markers on Explore look right again.
    • Progress-share notes now match the destination you picked.

  4. Version 1.3.0 — Clearer share images and list actions

    We cleaned up share images and list actions.

    New features

    • Redeem a store-issued promo code from Settings.
    • Long-press a list row to complete, change visibility, share, or delete.
    • The spreadsheet stats report now includes completions by age group.

    Improvements

    • Share images are now a single column. Full shows the whole list; Simple shows one bucket, and you can pick which one in the preview.
    • Swipe actions on the list now ask for confirmation before complete, incomplete, or delete.
    • The stats report no longer includes the bucket list. Export the list from Export to a file.

    Fixes

    • Progress sharing now lets you review the caption before opening the post.
    • If a share image cannot be created, the app tells you instead of sending only the caption.
    • Your list filters and sort order now persist after you reopen the app.
    • Friends list filters now persist after you reopen the app.
    • Pulling to refresh no longer lets an older like count overwrite a newer one.
    • Fixed how shared rows appear on Explore.
    • Share-image text is easier to read, and file size is smaller.

  5. Version 1.2.0 — Easier ways to bring your list in, and a clearer view of friends

    We made it easier to bring buckets in, and easier to see what friends are doing.

    New features

    • Import buckets from a CSV or Google Sheet.
    • Share the app itself with friends from Settings.
    • See how many public buckets each friend has.
    • Group a friend's buckets the same way you group your own list.
    • After adding a featured or public bucket, jump straight to it in your list.

    Improvements

    • Shared buckets now say "Members", so it's clear you're working on them together.
    • You can no longer like your own bucket while it's shared.
    • Removed the two gendered "Have a child" items from featured buckets.

    Fixes

    • Completion time sometimes showed as a negative number.
    • Pro users sometimes hit the save limit.
    • Cover images on shared buckets sometimes did not reach the other person.
    • Strikethrough and overlapping headings could appear on the share image.
    • Various display fixes on Friends and Explore.

  6. Version 1.1.0 — Usability improvements and bug fixes

    We refined everyday use and fixed issues around sharing and social sharing.

    New features

    • Exclude buckets from social share images. You can now choose this setting for each bucket.
    • See the number of likes you have received in bucket details and list rows.
    • Set an achievement date to "Not set" when you remember completing something but do not know the date.
    • After your third completion, the app will ask for an App Store or Google Play review once.
    • Collaboration notifications now show who edited a bucket and link to it. Important fixes are also announced in the app.
    • Added "Have a child" to the starter buckets.

    Improvements

    • Making a bucket public no longer reduces what your friends can see.
    • We organize the information shown in list rows. Visibility, sharing, and social-sharing indicators now sit on the first line and remain easy to read on narrow screens.

    Fixes

    • Shared-bucket updates could fail to reach another device on Android.
    • Pro users could incorrectly see a message saying they could not join a shared bucket because of a save limit.
    • Collaboration notifications could arrive more often than needed, and a shared bucket's "Only me" visibility setting could fail to save.
    • Images could sometimes be missing when sharing to X or LINE on iOS.
    • Likes from a previous account could remain after signing out, and list rows could wrap onto two lines on narrow screens.

  7. Version 1.0.0 — First release

    Bucket List Commit is now available on the App Store and Google Play. Future releases will group updates into new features, improvements, fixes, and other changes.

    New features

    • Create, edit and complete bucket-list items. Keep photos, notes, checklists, due dates and visibility settings together.
    • Choose from starter buckets to add ideas, or use Quick Add to capture a thought as soon as it comes to you.
    • Find friends, invite them with a link or QR code, share buckets, browse public lists and leave likes.
    • Look back on completion rates, category breakdowns and your progress over time.
    • Optional reminders help you return to due dates, achievement anniversaries and buckets you have not touched for a while. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets are included, too.
    • Export to CSV, Markdown, PDF or Google Sheets. GitHub sync and Google Calendar and Google Sheets integrations are also available.
    • Choose from two free themes and six paid themes. Pro increases the limits for saved buckets, friends and photos.

    Other

    • The app supports iPad, iCloud backup on iOS, restore-only backup on Android, Japanese and English, and reporting and blocking.
